Realising that my wflow needs to be faster and more creative, reminds me some creative basics which was recommended quite often. A sentence “Be done in any step” – also used in agile processes – comes from hand drawing classes.
Sketching and Wireframing
We have to first observe the object, first rough shape of composition, than the construction of each object and step by step to more and more details. Also depends on you how many details you wish on the end.
Styling and Skinning
After you are satisfied with your construction you can decide a style if you want to just highlight contours to make stronger feeling of deep, or if you wish to apply also shadows.
In some cases it could sound like a distraction but if you get use to do it often you will never point to some detail and forget to whole design. This is a part where I have to work on too.
